Welcome to our beach-side school

Imagine your child joyfully leaving for school each day anticipating an engaging and happy learning environment where they are met with a curriculum that supports their developmental and emotional needs.

Goora Gan Steiner School is committed to developing the whole child - head, heart and hands, celebrating the individual, cultivating creativity and the capacity for innovative thinking.  Empathy is cultivated whilst promoting and encouraging a sense of reverence for life and connection with nature, a respect for self, family and the wider community.

Goora Gan Steiner School is located by the beach in Agnes Water, a stunning coastal town on the tranquil Discovery Coast of QLD. In March 2019 the school relocated from its founding location at the local Community Hall, to its fantastic new site at the Agnes Water Surf Club, where it will grow for six years or until such time as a permanent school site is established.

An accredited P-6 Primary School, GGSS is the first of its kind in the Wide Bay region. Your child will discover a pioneering spirit that can flourish in a class of foundation students who proudly count themselves among a global collective of the fastest growing school movement in the World.

Goora Gan Steiner School acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our school operates and throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

"Our highest endeavour must be to develop free human beings, who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives. The need for imagination, a sense of truth and a feeling of responsibility. These three forces are the very nerve of education." Rudolf Steiner

Prep & Kindy

In the first seven years, children are developing their physical bodies and are primarily living in their will. During this period, learning is mostly through physical actions and imitation.

Primary School

From the ages 7 to 13, the child becomes increasingly aware of a wider world outside of the family and begins to develop a sense of self.
